The Tabernacle in the Wilderness "The Scriptures record the numbers of persons in each of the twelve tribes as Asher 41,500; Benjamin 35,400; Dan 62,700; Ephraim (Joseph) 40,500; Gad 45,650; Isaachar 54,400; Manasseh 32,200; Naphtali 53,400; Reuben 46,500; Simeon 59,300 Zebulon 57,400 making a grand total of 603, 550. Judah was in the lead because the Messiah, Jesus Christ, would be from this tribe/house (after Solomon's fall split the Kingdom of Israel in two, Judah and Benjamin became the House of Judah, and the other Ten Tribes became the House of Israel). Therefore, look out for the counterfeiter, lucifer/satan, bringing the false messiah--the wilful king--the son of perdition from Judah. Just as Judas Iscariot was also from the House of Judah and he received the spirit of anti-Christ. From then the spirit of anti-Christ has been in the world. There is not enough space on this website to tell all about the Tabernacle in the Wilderness but the greatest truth for believers in Jesus Christ is that only the priests could enter into the Holy Place, and only the High Priest could enter into the Holy of Holies--this is why it is important to note how many persons were in the camp in the wilderness--it confirms they could not all physically hold in the Holy Place. After Jesus Christ opened the Lifegate (1 Cor. 11; 23-34) to whomsoever will, all believers have become priests unto God and unto man--the Royal Priesthood, the Holy Nation (1 Peter 2:9). This is why Christians stand at the Table of Shewbread which became the Communion Table at the Last Supper. Whereas before, only the Priests could eat at the Table of Shewbread today, because of Jesus Christ's finished work we partake of the Unleavened Bread (symbolic of His body), and the Grape Juice (fruit of the vine--symbolic of His Blood). This is why we are illuminated by the Holy Spirit represented by the Seven Golden Candlestick and why our Prayers in Jesus Christ's Name rise from the Altar of Incence to the throne of God out of the angel's hand. The Prayers of the saints are answered or they are put in vials for the appointed time (Rev. 5:8; 8:4). Jesus is the reason we can go boldly into the Holy of Holies with our praise and petitions because Jesus is our High Priest forevermore (Heb 10:19) and we "sit together in Heavenly Places in Him" (Eph. 2:6). Can we forsake so great a salvation? Can low living accompany such a High Calling? Should we be ashamed or shy to present this truth to those who do not yet know Him? The entire details and references of the Tabernacle in the Wilderness is contained in the book, The Everlasting Covenant. Click here to order. The following diagram shows the Salvation Plan in the Tabernacle in the Wilderness. God came down to deliver His people represented by the Ark of the Covenant. The Poreketh or Veil which separated the Holy of Holies from the Holy Place was torn by God from top to bottom when the Passover Lamb, Jesus Christ, died upon the cross of Calvary (Mt. 27:51), confirming that God had removed the separation and mankind could now be redeemed by the Blood of the Passover Lamb and be reconciled. Man now has to accept the sacrificial Passover Lamb on the Brazen Altar, wash in the Laver/waters of Baptism and open the door (Mawsawk) and enter into (Rev. 3:20) the Holy Place to be illuminated by the Holy Spirit, feed on the Unleavened Bread and the Blood (symbolic of Christ Jesus' redemptive work) to be renewed and regenerated (Rom. 12:2; Tit 3:5); while walking towards the Altar to become the Bride of the Lamb (Rev. 19:7). "...and I AM come down to deliver them ..." (Ex. 3:8). "... And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men unto Me (Salvation)" (Jn. 12:32). This is the fulfillment of those Scriptures. Every single item in the Tabernacle of the Wilderness had great meaning and significance to God's Salvation Plan for man and His covenant with man. The Cross of Jesus Christ But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ; by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. (Gal. 6:14). And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby. (Eph. 2: 16). And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Whereby God has highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name (Ph’p. 2:8,9). For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ; whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame who mind earthly things ( Ph’p. 3:18). And having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven (Col. 1:20). Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross. And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it ( Gol. 2: 14,15). Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of God ( Heb.12:2).
