Historical Study - Old and New Testament (all Scriptures are in boldface) The Bible is the oldest book known to man, which tells of the beginning of mankind and the end of man, and remains today, the world's best seller. The Bible is the only record of the creation of man by God. Not a god of stone, or transience, but a God of life, and omnipotence. A God, who is YAHWEH, "The one who brings everything into existence." The God of great love, who wanted to walk and talk with His people, and still does. The Bible tells us of this relationship. The ups and downs, the strife and struggle. The glorious beginning, the temptation, the unbelief, the disobedience, and the consequent separation, then the subsequent promise and sacrifice of the Great God of Love to redeem His people. This God, who travailed "as a woman in childbirth " to birth His children in Him, covered by His Holy Blood. Then, the giving of His Holy Spirit to renew man's fallen mind, and to regenerate man's fallen nature, so that man would "know His statues and His judgments and do them," thereby finally accomplishing the perfect creation of His children - "made to His own image and likeness." It is a story of love. A story of creation and redemption in its deepest and purest process. A story which spans many eras of time and space and lands and Laws, and mercies. It is His story. This is an in-depth study of the beginning and the end…and the middle. "The natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness unto him, neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." Therefore, this study will depend on the person of His Holy Spirit who will systematically carry you through these series. "You need not have a man teach you. When He, the Spirit of Truth comes to you He will reveal all things." Although the Bible comprises sixty-six Books, it is really one Book and you will be applying the topical and biographical methodology recognizing the parallels and typology and the relationship that each Book has with all the other Books. God and His story, and history, with mankind will be unveiled before your eyes, and as you journey from one Book to another, you will be enjoying and enjoining as you learn the facts of this relationship between a living God who desires to be our Father and to establish an everlasting consanguinity with His children. You will draw closer to Him and He will draw closer to you, and in so doing, He will not only reveal His acts as He did to the children of Israel, but He will reveal His ways as He did with Moses. Films will be recommended showing the Biblical sites as they were then, and as they are now. You will follow the Word of God which was spoken by Him directly to His chosen Prophets, who in turn repeated them to the people. Words which burned in their minds and etched upon their hearts. Words which were handed down from generation to generation until they were scratched in cuneiform upon tablets of clay, which later became sacred scrolls upon the skins of animals and then became flesh and dwelt among us…conquered death…arose triumphantly, and now lovingly continue to draw all men unto salvation, unto Y'shua , (Jesus) for His name means salvation. Yes, indeed, God became our salvation. You will follow through exciting historical facts to learn the fight to have God's Word written down in books and languages so that anyone desiring may have the freedom of knowing God's Word for himself/herself. A fight that includes Mesopotamia, Palestine, Rome, Scotland, Constantinople, and Italy, as well as many kings, kingdoms and religions, while absorbing God's unchanging character. The same, yesterday, today and forever. The truth of the Holy Scriptures is absolute and unchanging. A truth which is always there. It is not truth which changes, but we who grow wiser. Not that tomorrow will hold for better truth, but that we will make discoveries, through His Spirit of Truth. The Word of God will never pass away. You will see how God's Word is practical for everyday life and how it applies to you in a personal and ever-helping way today. Please have a copy of the Holy Bible, the King James Version , is closest to the original languages, and the New King James Version has deleted the old English terms of thou, thus, knowest etc. Also, get yourself a copy of James Strong's Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible which will assist you in quickly looking up all references from the Old and New Testaments on any word or subject. Also, this concordance has the Hebrew and Greek lexicons at the back, so you can look up certain words. For instance, did you know the word Canaan, means to be made humble? Consider this, the children of Israel journeys through much hardship to the promised land, which is called Canaan, and Canaan means: "to be made humble." What about the word Ark? The Scriptures uses two different words for Ark. One, which described the Ark of Noah, the Ark of Moses, and another, the Ark of the Covenant, which incidentally, is the same word which the Scriptures used to speak of the coffin of Joseph. Why? Because the Ark of the Covenant was an ossuary. This is why Isaiah knew that He would come and die for us. This is why the Israelites had to treat it with such respect, why they had to carry it upon their shoulders, as they even do today to the coffins of kings and dignitaries. Because He is the King of Kings. And what were the contents in the Ark of the Covenant? The Ten Commandments, The Unleavened Bread, and Aaron's rod which had budded, from the almond tree, which is the firstfruit.( The Word of God, the One without leaven (sin)- the Bread of Life, and the first fruit of the resurrection). The Feast of Passover, The Feast of Unleavened Bread, The Feast of Firstfruit which were all fulfilled in Him, the Messiah, the Saviour. Are you excited yet? Click here for some examples to stir your thirst for the Word, as you look into your inheritance in Jesus Christ, through Him, you sit in Heavenly places (Eph. 2:6). Yes, you are called to participate in the divine nature (2 Pet. 1:4). Do you know all the promises of God? Don't live beneath your inheritance, and don't let the devil steal from you anymore.
